This year the Teresian Association has been celebrating the centenary of its presence in Donostia-San Sebastian. It all began in the academic year 1921-1922. As part of this commemoration, attention was directed towards society and the world today.
In that year, the Teresian Association began activities with the opening of a residential school for female students studying to become teachers or preparing for competitive examinations.
To mark the centenary, the following events were held:
- A thanksgiving Mass on 26 January concelebrated by priest friends. It was held in the parish of San Ignacio where the school was located.
- A lecture given by Manuela Aguilera on the topic, “Society before a mirror - trapped and vulnerable”. This took place on 16 February at the Koldo Mitxelena Cultural Centre attached to the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.
- Open days on 23, 24 and 25 February at the headquarters of the Teresian Association. There were presentations of the work of the Association in the various countries in which it is located and also of the activities being currently carried out in this city.
The Teresian Association currently carries out activities in Donostia focused on international cooperation and transformative education. It does so through the NGDO InteRed. It also has a presence in various social and ecclesial entities related to human development, education and culture.
