Advent Message 2023 of the Teresian Association offered this year by the new Governing Council.
«We begin the journey of Advent with an invitation to become more alert and to keep our eyes open; to sharpen our sensitivity so that we may detect and give our support to the new life in God that is emerging.»
«In this Advent season, together we would like to take a look at the state of our world without falling into the temptation to despair. Let us feel the strength that comes from God so that we may stand up to all that is wrong without losing patience and confidence in the future. Let us not be overwhelmed by suffering but allow our actions and gestures to show that it is possible, together with others, to open up pathways to life.»
«We are moved by the faces of men and women, children and the elderly and the sick and the healthy who are stricken by the violence of war. Our concern grows for the conditions of millions of people who have fallen below the poverty line in recent years due to the confluence of multiple crises including the covid-19 pandemic, armed conflicts, natural disasters, rising food prices, the housing crisis and social upheavals and clashes.»
«We are sent as a people to awaken and spread hope because we have had the powerful experience of God’s compassion for all; God can do all things (Cf. Wisdom 11:23).»
