On the evening of Monday, 28 July 2025, the Community of Saint Pedro Poveda, belonging to the Holy Family of Nazareth Parish in Taquaritinga-SP, held a moving liturgical celebration in honor of its patron saint. The Solemn Mass, presided by the parish priest, Fr. Daniel Bento Bejo, brought together about 100 faithful in a moment marked by faith, remembrance, and great joy.
During the homily, the priest highlighted the life of Saint Pedro Poveda, relating his life and mission to the Gospel of the day, especially the parable of the mustard seed, a symbol of the fruitful and silent growth of faith. The celebration continued with a procession through the streets of the neighborhood, carrying the float decorated with flowers and bearing the image of the saint, venerated by the faithful with deep devotion.
In the final rites, the assembly joined voices in prayer dedicated to Saint Pedro Poveda and fervently sang the hymn in his honor. As a symbolic gesture of commitment to education, Fr. Daniel revived an old tradition of the community: the special blessing of the teachers and educators present.
To close the festive celebration, everyone gathered for a fraternal moment of fellowship and sharing, strengthening the bonds of community and spirituality inspired by the charism of Saint Pedro Poveda.
Festa de São Pedro Poveda em Taquaritinga, São Paulo – Brasil
Na noite da última segunda-feira, 28 de julho de 2025, a Comunidade São Pedro Poveda, pertencente à Paróquia Sagrada Família de Nazaré, em Taquaritinga-SP, realizou uma emocionante celebração litúrgica em honra ao seu padroeiro. A Missa Solene, presidida pelo pároco Pe. Daniel Bento Bejo, reuniu cerca de 100 fiéis em um momento marcado por fé, memória e muita alegria.
Durante a homilia, o sacerdote destacou a trajetória de São Pedro Poveda, relacionando sua vida e missão ao Evangelho do dia, especialmente à parábola do grão de mostarda, símbolo do crescimento fecundo e silencioso da fé. A celebração seguiu com uma procissão pelas ruas do bairro, conduzindo o andor ornamentado com flores e levando a imagem do santo, venerada pelos fiéis com profunda devoção.
Nos ritos finais, a assembleia uniu vozes na oração dedicada a São Pedro Poveda e entoou com fervor o hino em sua homenagem. Como gesto simbólico de compromisso com a educação, Pe. Daniel retomou uma antiga tradição da comunidade: a bênção especial aos professores e educadores presentes.
