The Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir (UCV) awards its Gold Medal to the Teresian Association on the occasion of the first centenary of the pontifical approval and for its work of human promotion.
The rector of the University, José Manuel Pagán Agulló, has informed the President of the Association, Gregoria Ruiz, that "the purpose of the Gold Medal of the UCV is to give recognition to those who have carried out work of great value from the social or humanitarian point of view, among others. In this case, it is undeniable recognition of these 100 years of the Teresian Association's contribution to human promotion and social transformation through education and culture, something that links us with a common mission, the evangelizing mission of the Church."
Ceremony
The Medal will be awarded next Tuesday, April 30, during an Academic Ceremony presided over by the Grand Chancellor of the Catholic University of Valencia, Archbishop Enrique Benavent, Archbishop of Valencia.
The Vice-President of the Association, Mª Rita Martín, will receive this distinction on behalf of Gregoria Ruiz, who is currently in Chile.
During the ceremony, the Premios Extraordinarios de Grado and distinctions to the professors and administrative and service personnel who have completed 15 and 25 years of work at the UCV and to those who have reached their retirement in the last year will also be presented.

The UCV Gold Medal was awarded for the first time in 2021 to highlight those who had played an essential role in helping the population during the pandemic; in 2022 it was awarded to the people of Ukraine; and in 2023 to the Cardinal and Archbishop Emeritus of Valencia, Antonio Cañizares and the Royal Archconfraternity of Our Lady of the Innocent Martyrs and Forsaken on the centenary of their coronation.
