A wave of blue and white came to the National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Loreto in Manila. These were the almost 200 members, collaborators, and friends of the Teresian Association - Luzon, Philippines who came to celebrate their annual Voto de Covadonga on 11 October 2025, in the 75th year of TA in the Philippines.

TALuz Voto participantesThe delegation included staff members of Institución Teresiana de Educación y Cultura, Inc. (ITEC), St. Pedro Poveda College and recipients of the Elisa Giambelluca Education Assistance Program (EGEAP)

Between readings from the Gospels and the Letter from TA president Gregoria Ruiz, those gathered offered songs and reflections under the gaze of Our Lady.

Testimonies and floral offering

Jhohnna Ebit, EGEAP grantee from Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Mandaluyong, Novelyn Calizar, TA member, and Maria Jessamyn Castillejo, St. Pedro Poveda College staff member shared their testimonies about the power of faith and prayer through the intercession of our Blessed Mother.

Representatives also offered flowers, continuing the TA tradition of showing their gratitude and renewing their devotion to the Blessed Mother, which started after St. Pedro Poveda established the TA under the inspiration of Our Lady of Covadonga.

The Shrine’s Rector, Rev. Fr. Martin Adoviso, celebrated the Holy Mass and warmly welcomed all gathered to pay homage to Mother Mary.

The pilgrims also participated in the Pagmamanto, facilitated by the shrine. As part of the Marian pilgrimage, the mantle of Our Lady of Loreto is placed around each pilgrim--a reassurance of her protection and love.

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Loreto in Manila is the only shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto in the Philippines. The devotion to Our Lady of Loreto comes from Italy, where the house of the Holy Family from Nazareth is enshrined within the Basilica of the Holy House.

She is the patroness of aviators and students and of the protection of houses against fires and calamities. The shrine has also been assigned as a Jubilee 2025 Pilgrim Church for the elderly, grandparents, and families.

Her Canonical Feast is celebrated every 10th of December.
