After three years of not holding the annual Marian procession due to the restrictions of the Covid19 pandemic, the Archdiocesan Council of Lay Associations and Integrated Movements (ACLAIM) of the Archdiocese of Davao (Philippines) held the Marian procession on May 27, 2023.
The Teresian Association in Davao is among the 51 members of ACLAIM.
The Marian procession is an activity held in May to honor Our Lady. The theme for this year’s procession was, Mary, Mother of Hope. Do whatever He tells you. Jn 2: 5.
Before the procession from the Ateneo of Davao Grade School Campus to the San Pedro Cathedral, there was first the recitation of the Holy Rosary with the floral offering, the celebration of the Eucharist presided by Archbishop Romulo G. Valles and a testimony from a Marian devotee.
Flowers and lights
Organizations joining the procession brought an image of Our Lady. This year, there were 22 images in the procession, each beautifully adorned with flowers and lights.
The Teresian Association brought the image of Our Lady of Covadonga. TA members, families and employees of the school in Davao participated. “Estampitas” on Our Lady of Covadonga were distributed so that the Marian devotees will get to know this special devotion of the Teresian Association.
