Bridging the gap is a mentoring and volunteering initiative that took place last summer between Spain and Equatorial Guinea. It started with the desire to accompany secondary school students from vulnerable groups with support in their subjects, and at the same time to offer meaningful experiences of online or face-to-face volunteering to young people who wanted to give some of their free time for the benefit of others.

The Bishop of Guadix, Spain, Francisco Jesús Orozco, has declared the parish of Nuestra Señora de Gracia (Our Lady of Grace) in the district of Las Cuevas (The Caves) a diocesan shrine, renaming it “The Shrine of Our Lady of Grace and St Pedro Poveda”. He also blessed the new diocesan chapel dedicated to St. Pedro Poveda.

PILGRIMAGE AND OFFERING
A substantial number of people were able to be present in person, and many others joined us in the Voto de Covadonga 2021 pilgrimage by means of the Covadonga direct online channel. This annual event has been taking place since 1934. It is an occasion when the Teresian Association expresses gratitude to Our Lady by presenting the fruits of our mission from different parts of the world.
