Maruja González Vargas, known as Marujita, a PA member of the Teresian Association in Chile, has just written a book. The launch was held in the library of the Teresian School in Santiago.
On 17 October the launch took place of the book Luz María. una voz en el silencio by María González Vargas. She enthusiastically and eagerly received her guests at the place chosen for the presentation of her work in the Colegio Institución Teresiana de Chile. The library was prepared for this significant event.
Cecilia Arancibia opened the event by noting that Chilean literature has recently lost a famous writer, Antonio Skármeta. This Chilean author left his mark internationally and had dedicated his life to sharing with several generations the conviction that art, words and books are tools that allow us to look beyond, to be in solidarity, to be compassionate and to be freer.
This was a background to the present launch, as was the recent celebration by the TA on 15 October of the feast day of St Teresa of Avila, writer of mystical literature, a restless and wandering woman. Cecilia Arancibia then said that the book was written by a woman who has dedicated her life to writing. Like St Teresa, Maria Gonzalez Vargas - Marujita -- is a restless wanderer whose example of perseverance inspires us not to put barriers to our dreams. 
Testimonies
During the event, several people from the literary workshop in which the author participated took part. One of these was Claudio Gudmani Salman who had led the workshop, a writer and graduate in Arts from the Catholic University of Chile. He accompanied Marujita throughout this process so that she could write each page herself. 
Mory, a colleague in the Literary Workshop, also spoke and gave her account of the experience. The evening was enlivened by a young musician, Martín Palacios, a former student of the TA School, who accompanied the event with beautiful musical interludes on the piano.
Marujita was feeling emotional when she said, ‘I feel as if it were not me but someone else who is showing what God gave her. That is why I am so calm; it is because it is not mine. God gave me the ability to write and I'm using it; that's what I'm doing.’
The writer was accompanied by her sister Inés and Bernardita, her niece. Also present was the director of the TA Chilean Sector ‘Los Santos Ángeles’, Eliana Corbett G. The great event concluded with a cocktail for all the attendees who accompanied a happy and joyful Marujita.
