María Bertha de la Portilla Velásquez, a member of the TA in Peru, has been recognized as professor emeritus by Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University, where she has taught for twenty years.

reconocimiento peru

At an academic ceremony at this Jesuit university, Bertha received congratulations and praise from the authorities and the large audience attending the event.

The laudatio, prepared by a colleague from the university and former Colegio Isabel Flores de Oliva (CIFO) parent, focused significantly on the thinking of Saint Pedro Poveda.

We congratulate and thank Bertha for this distinction, which reflects very well on the Teresian Association.

Bertha de la Portilla holds a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling Education from Boston College and a Bachelor's degree in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She has been a teacher and tutor at Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University and coordinator of the Master's program in Counseling at the university's Graduate School.

She was previously the principal of Colegio Isabel Flores de Oliva, a TA center in Lima. She has produced academic work and publications on teacher identity, school guidance, and family participation in the educational process.
