On Sunday 29 October, with the Eucharist presided by Pope Francis in St. Peter's Basilica, the first session of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the theme “For a Synodal Church: communion, participation and mission” concluded.

A group of about fifty people coming from Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada, met in mid-August in Boulogne-sur-Mer, for a summer session on the theme: Legacy and creativity in a Church on the move, the experience of the earliest Christian communities and the inspiration of the Teresian Association.

Members of the Teresian Association from around the world have been involved in the diocesan phase of the synodal consultation which began in October 2021. They did so through their parishes, by joining other groups of lay people, or as TA groups with friends.

The Bible Study group of Filipino migrant workers living in Jerusalem embarked on a pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Haifa, at the end of May with the synodal journey as background topic.

The synodal journey is very important for a group of TA members who live in a residence for the elderly in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid). They have taken part in the diocesan phase of the Synod and have drawn up a document full of suggestions.

The Plaza de la Concha Cultural Centre run by the Teresian Association in Cordoba in Spain held two meetings on the synodal process in online and in-person format.

Members of the Association around the world who are involved in the synodal path in their local churches shared their experiences so far of this Synod on “For a Synodal Church: communion, participation and mission”.
