As a mark of the centennial anniversary of the Teresian Association of its pontifical approval, we have chosen October 26th, 2024 as the day for the celebration.
We offered Mass as a thanksgiving for 100 years of its pontifical approval. It was held at the Sacred Heart Church in Taipei, where the TA Taiwan was previously located for over twenty years. Due to our presence and collaboration in that parish, especially in assisting migrants and other foreigners, it is a significant celebration venue.
The majority of Taiwan's members were present, and we were in charge of the offertory part of the Mass. Teresa Wei (AP) and Joseph Lin (ACIT) offered Bread and Wine, and four more members helped collect offerings. Joy Ampiloquio offered all the offerings which is a very symbolic gesture that brings all our intentions and prayers.
Eddie Hsiao (ACIT president) introduced the TA before the recessional hymn. It was a brief and concise introduction emphasizing the 100th anniversary of pontifical approval. He encouraged the congregation to take the leaflets and bookmarks given away by four members outside the Church as our way of sharing the charism of the TA for those who do not know us yet.
It was followed by a family dinner at a restaurant that served healthy food after the Eucharist. This moment provided an excellent opportunity to connect, share experiences, and draw inspiration and energy from one another’s company. This was such a festive and warm moment.
A celebration of the greatness of hearts
It may not be a grand celebration exteriorly, but it is a celebration of the greatness of hearts of all members (both ACIT and AP) in Taiwan, whose humble presence in various work contexts articulates our very own spirituality of the Incarnation as salt and light.
There was a simple yet serene celebration of our transforming presence in the local church where most of us serve different parishes and dioceses. The celebration was indeed filled with joy and hope. We are a Work of the Church and the Holy Spirit is still leading us “to arise and keep moving forward...”
