The Instituto Superior de Estudios Educativos Pedro Poveda (ISESP), located in the Dominican Republic, has received certification that recognises the educational process being followed. Luis Abinader Corona, the country’s president, awarded the document at an official ceremony in the city of Santo Domingo on 13 June.

The Instituto Superior de Estudios Educativos Pedro Poveda (ISESP) represented by its rector, Dinorah García Romero, received from the hands of the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, a certificate of recognition for having fulfilled with rigor and responsibility, the processes of self-evaluation and external evaluation, required by the Five-Year Evaluation indicated by Law 139-01 on Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT).
The evaluation process of higher education institutions, which is carried out every five years in this country, resulted in a successful outcome for the ISESP. This process consists of eight dimensions, 36 components, 67 criteria, 210 standards, 910 indicators and 915 tests. The team of external evaluators is made up of national and international academics, and they presented a conclusive report.
The ISESP expressed gratitude and issued the following statement: “Once again, the high esteem shown for Pedro Poveda's educational approach in this socio-educational context is confirmed. For ISESP this recognition is an important milestone for this up-and-coming entity.”
“We receive this certification as an offering to the Lord and as an expression of gratitude for the 100 years of Pontifical approval of the TA and 70 years of presence in the Dominican Republic,” they concluded.
