More than 20 people spent a day at the Cerro Azul Beach Resort, two hours from Lima (Peru), under the slogan ‘A sea of encounters’. They shared a brief account of their experience with us.

On Saturday, 30th August, the feast of Saint Rose of Lima, 26 people gathered for a day with the slogan ‘A sea of encounters’. The destination was the Cerro Azul Beach Resort, two hours from Lima.
Those who participated are discerning a vocation in the Teresian Association. They are in the initial stage or in their first or second year of deepening their commitment.
We began the day by meeting at dawn in a place in Lima. On the way, we stopped at León Dormido beach for a contemplative prayer facing the sea.
Activities and reflections
As we made our way to the venue, we decorated the space with quotes from Pedro Poveda and enjoyed a family breakfast, where everyone brought something to share.
We took part in activities designed to help us get to know each other and integrate, so that we could experience the gift of fraternity with simplicity and joy.
The reflection of the day focused on the TA Mission in everyday life. Together, we discovered and gave thanks for the lay vocation, following Jesus in the family, at work, on the street and among all the people with whom we live.
Simplicity, conviviality, fraternity, hope, shared responsibility, care for the most vulnerable, commitment to social transformation: these were words that resonated deeply.
At the end, we gave thanks to the Lord for this profound experience of the Teresian spirit, like the first followers of Jesus, with one heart and one soul. We arrived in Lima around 8 p.m., happy to continue deepening our understanding of ‘the call to this kind of apostolate,’ as Poveda told us.
