Ruth Tania Riskowsky Arraya, PA member of the Teresian Association, has received an award of recognition from various institutions in Bolivia. In this chronicle we hear how the event unfolded.
All of us in the Teresian Association-Bolivia were very moved a few days ago when Ruth Tania Riskowsky Arraya, member of the Primary Association of the TA, received an award for her 60 years of service to education in our country.
A biographical sketch was read out that included a long list of functions that she carried out both in the educational and pastoral fields. Several institutions joined in to highlight both her personal and professional qualities.
The institutions that joined the award ceremony were: Sedes Sapientiae Foundation, Community of the Local Church (CEIL), Pedro Poveda School, former students of the Catholic Teacher Training College, former teachers and administrative staff of the Catholic Higher Teacher Training College Sedes Sapientiae, Esclavas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús School, Pius XII School, the Bolivian Catholic University and a large group of private individuals.
A woman of dialogue
Those present described her as a woman of dialogue, committed to contemporary problems, and always attentive to the social, cultural and spiritual needs of those around her.
Pedro Poveda maintained that faith should permeate all areas of life, and so the members of the Teresian Association should be competent professionals always guided by their Christian values. This was what Ruth's trajectory revealed, as well as her unceasing service to others and to the Teresian Association. Its members should seek an education that encompasses not only academic knowledge, but also ethical, moral and spiritual preparation.
Poveda believed that a good education would enable women to respond effectively to the challenges of their time. It is clear that, in these 60 years of service to education, Ruth carried out her educational mission with a deep sense of responsibility, justice and social commitment.
It was a lovely ceremony, and it highlighted her simplicity, closeness, human warmth, empathy for the problems of others, her vision to undertake new projects and to always keep dreaming of better education, her serenity, clear vision to resolve conflicts and much more.
Ruth is an admirable person, an educator by vocation and above all a woman of deep faith.
