
The annual meeting of leaders of international associations of the faithful and ecclesial movements organised by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life was held in the Vatican on 13 June.

We have received news from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil telling us about a Mass that was held in the chapel consecrated to Our Lady Aparecida on 22 June on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the pontifical approval of the Teresian Association.

On Saturday, July 22, the second lecture of Fr. Javier Sancho Fermín, OCD, programmed by the TA in South Florida (USA), took place as part of the Centenary of the Pontifical Approval celebrations. The theme was Baptism, and mystical vocation, identity of the lay Christian.

Under the title “Poveda's Dreams”, the TA in Guadix held a commemorative event on 14 June with a conference by Loreto Ballester -- TA president from 2000 to 2012--, and music by the Amabile Quartet.

The European Council adopted the Pact on Migration and Asylum on 14 May 2024. This agreement encompasses a set of legal measures that establish a new legal framework for the European Union in the field of migration and international protection. To learn more about this new development, the Social Action Area of the Teresian Association in Spain organised an online meeting on 22 May with the intervention of Patricia Fernández Vicens, lawyer and well-known defender of the human rights of migrant.

To commemorate the Centenary of the Pontifical Approval of the Teresian Association (TA), friends and members of this Catholic International group present in South Florida since 1961, gathered at the Poveda Center in Miami for the first of two talks, in Spanish, under the title: St Pedro Poveda and Teresa of Jesus: Wisdom for the laity today.

The Sagrada Familia Training Centre in Malaga in Spain celebrated the end of the school year on 19 June with the students of Spanish and literacy classes for foreigners. The Centre is run by the diocesan Caritas and the Teresian Association in Malaga.

The Instituto Superior de Estudios Educativos Pedro Poveda (ISESP), located in the Dominican Republic, has received certification that recognises the educational process being followed. Luis Abinader Corona, the country’s president, awarded the document at an official ceremony in the city of Santo Domingo on 13 June.
