On 21 and 22 May, the New Synod Hall at the Vatican hosted an international meeting organised by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life. Around 200 participants — members of the governing bodies of international associations and movements — gathered to reflect on the theme: “To Serve, accompany and guide: foundations and practices of governance in associations”.

The presentation of Magnifica Humanitas, the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, featured a contribution from Léocadie Wasbo Lushombo from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a theologian, lecturer and member of the Teresian Association. The event, held in the Synod Hall, was attended by guests including Gregoria Ruiz, TA president, and Elisa Byamana Borauzima, also from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a member of the TA in Italy.

In the Dominican Republic, there is a place where values of peace, justice, equality and respect are encouraged. This is the Saint Pedro Poveda Socio-Cultural Training Centre (CEFOSOP), one of the social projects run by the Teresian Association in the country. Children, teenagers and adults learn various artistic and communication skills through the programmes on offer.

On 14 May, as part of the initiative launched by the TA Council for Culture to promote ‘ecological conversion’, Carmelo Coco held discussions with Biochemistry students in the Aula Magna of the Technical College and later with members and friends at the TA headquarters in Rossano.

Throughout the months from February to April 2026, the Teresian Association International Youth Network (RIJIT) continued moving forward in Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe. They are forging relationships and connections, becoming established and sparking hope, even though the final picture is still taking form.
